Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Father's Day wasn't very long ago...but I wanted to take a moment to recognize the birthday of a pretty special guy!!  (even if it is a couple of days late!!)

29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

The day before Dad's  birthday we went to town and had a special meal at the park. Matt was on call for the EMT's and we wanted him to be able to help us celebrate. After the meal we played a rousing game of Bocce Ball!

Such a warm and beautiful day at the Point.

And the winning team was...Mom, Dad, Marie, and Rachel.

On Dad's birthday we opened a few gifts before we had some people over for cheese cake. JoAnna has gotten quite famous for wrapping her gifts in many layers of paper and lots of tape!! This particular gift took about 1 and 1/2 hours to wrap, due to the fact the she used newspapers as wrapping paper! If you have an extra minute please share a scripture to bless my Dad!!

Birthday Blessings to a Twenty One year old!

Rachel, Happy 21st Birthday!! You are such a blessing in our lives. Just like that smile, your whole countenance radiates Jesus!! Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and , and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness nor shadow of turning. James 1:17 You are definitely a good gift from God the Father.
We definitely appreciate your thoroughness, love for God's Word, and it's so nice that you handle practical jokes, because you are just such an easy person to tease :) Fear thou not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

There are so many good memories of Rachel...here is just one of them. When she was just one year old , we moved from Canada to Minnesota. Rachel was a little shy of a lot of her "new" relatives...all except her Great Grandpa Everett. She would let Grandpa hold her and play with her,  she was all smiles with him. I think God let Rachel enjoy her time with Grandpa,  because just a year later Grandpa passed away quite unexpectedly!

So a question for our readers, what do you appreciate about Rachel!! Let us know below!

Something that you might not know about Rachel is that she chose to become a child of God at our Vacation Bible School. Our Grandma K explained the way of salvation to her.

Some memories of Rachel, that are especially favorite ones of mine, are late night talks, practicing music together, working at the Good News Cabin together, Having a Bright Lights Group that we lead together, and especially helping quiz you for Nationals...BF's for 21 years, and I pray that we continue to be BFF:)  Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13 Some memories of Rachel, that are especially favorite ones of mine

Happy Birthday sweet girl....keep striving to live for Jesus first and foremost!

Enjoy Today!!

For the beauty of the earth, for the beauty of the skies, for the love which from our birth

Over and around us lies, Lord of all, to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.

For the beauty of each hour, of the day and of the night, Hill and vale

And tree and flow'r, sun and moon, and stars of light.

Lord of all, to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise,

For the joy of human love, brother, sister, parent, child, friends on earth, and friends above,

For all gentle thoughts and mild, Lord of all, to thee we raise, this our hymn of grateful praise.
In this life it is easy to get so busy, caught up with all that God has for us to do...but do we remember God? Take time today to praise God for who he is. Take a walk outside and enjoy his creation. Find time to spend alone with God and pour out your heart to him. The Great God loves to hear YOU talk to HIM!! You will find yourself refreshed and energized, really ready to tackle whatever God has for you to do! God has designed us with spiritual bodies too, ones that need to be fed from God's Word and ones that need time spent with God alone. I know that you have a big to do list...we all have those. But don't let that list become more important then time spent with the Lord and with family. Cherish the moment of today.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 46:10
